Aftermovie for the 16th World Festival of Children’s Theatre from June 27 to July 4, 2025 in Lingen.

For one week, from June 27 to July 4, 15 international children’s theater ensembles gathered at the Wilhelmshöhe in Lingen for the World Festival of Children’s Theater Festival to perform for and with each other. The groups celebrated their shared passion for theater and captivated audiences with their diverse productions.

Guest performances in Papenburg and Nordhorn, the cooperation with a Papenburg school and further performances and concerts on the open-air stage underlined the festivals claim with a high density of events. 

Many helping hands tirelessly volunteered before and especially during the festival. Host families welcomed children and overcame any language barriers. Companies and foundations participated in this unique theater festival. Last but not least, the city of Lingen provided support with personnel and financial assistance.

Theater, as a shared language, builds bridges and creates connections that last beyond the day. Some of the groups returned to Lingen for the second time, but the supervisors were also already familiar with the city. The workshops for guests and the festival park, with its offerings, particularly facilitated mutual exchange.

The aspect of participation played an important role again this time: the performances and the many other offerings in the park and on the open-air stages not only offered opportunities for participation for many regional cooperation partners but were also specifically aimed at guests from Lingen and the districts of Emsland and Grafschaft Bentheim.
